Mission Statement:

Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) is a national network of nonprofit, volunteer-based organizations committed to relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly. We offer to people of good will the opportunity to join the elderly in friendship and celebration of life.

LBFE strongly believes that people need special pleasures in life in addition to the basic necessities. We feel that love and dignity and beauty in life are as basic as physical needs. Our motto flowers before bread is reflected in the activities that all LBFE programs conduct, including elegant holiday meals with champagne and flowers, individual birthdays celebrated with a visitor bearing a birthday cake and gift, and the simple but valuable support of regular visits from a dedicated matched visiting volunteer.
