Where service to the elderly
begins by being a friend

Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly is a national network of non-profit, volunteer-based organizations committed to relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly. We offer to people of good will the opportunities to join the elderly in friendship and the celebration of life.

Our services are free of charge to the elderly.

Volunteering for Little Brothers

The "we" in all of our work utilizes the talents of over 1400 volunteers who work on our behalf. These generous people are guided by a staff of 7.

These volunteers bring their skills, talents, and time to our programs. We depend on them to drive our friends to medical and hospital appointments, visit, and cook and bake for our parties. Volunteers also help with office tasks, mailings, and photography.

A dozen student organizations at Michigan Technological University help with the firewood programs.

Our oversight and planning committees are composed primarily of volunteers who work in our programs. Our Board of Directors is made up of volunteers drawn from our local communities. They also are active in our programs.

You may contact us for available volunteer needs in our service area.
